The trial of Mikheil Saakashvili in the case of illegal crossing of the state border of Georgia to be held today. The hearing is scheduled in Tbilisi City Court.

Mikheil Saakashvili will not attend the trial.

The investigation into the fact of illegal border crossing by Mikheil Saakashvili started on October 1, 2021.

Four more people - Elguja Tsomaia, Zurab and Shalva Tsotsoria and Giorgi Narimanidze - have been charged in the case. Their case is being held separately. Their measure of restraint was changed and they were released on bail.
