Investigative actions are ongoing in the village of Jikhashkari, Zugdidi, in the vicinity of the house of the local resident, Omiane Jikia, where Badri Esebua has been arrested.

Members of the family of Jikia have been allegedly taken to Zugdidi for questioning.

Badri Esebua was arrested in Zugdidi a few hours ago. On October 21, 2020, he broke into the building of Bank of Georgia in Zugdidi. He took more than 40 citizens hostage and demanded USD 500 000 and security guarantees in exchange for their release. After receiving the money, the attacker managed to escape.
