Special Investigative Service revealed a citizen on the fact of unlawful interference in the professional activities of one of the TV channel’s cameraman

Conducted investigation carried out by the Special Investigation Service established that on December 20, 2022, “TV Pirveli” cameraman N.K. performed journalistic activities near the area of D. Agmashenebeli street, Ponichala, Tbilisi. The accused person D.M. hit operator N.K.’s video camera while he was working on the reportage, as a result, N.K. lost his balance and fell. According to the above-mentioned action, NK"s professional activities have interfered.

The Special Investigation Service conducted all the necessary investigative and procedural actions and obtained evidence of a crime. Based on the mentioned,on February 27, 2023, Prosecutor"s Office initiated a criminal prosecution against D.M. for the committed crime by Article 154, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Protection of the rights of journalists and their professional activities is one of the main priorities of the Special Investigation Service. The Special Investigation Service ensures timely and efficient investigation of similar types of crimes.
