Health Ministry together with Japan International Cooperation Agency works on Improved Maternal and Child Health

Ministry of Health together with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is working on a new project aimed at improved maternal and child Health. Supervision strategy for pregnant women and children under the age of five will be developed within the framework of a pilot project. Special guidelines aimed at improved quality of continuous maternal and child care and capacity building of parents will be developed for pregnant women and newbie parents.

Zurab Azarashvili, Minister of Health, met with JICA Senior Adviser, Keiko Osaki. The participants of the meeting focused on importance of maternal and child health and discussed future plans.

As it was noted during the meeting, introduction of special guidelines within pregnant women supervision program will significantly contribute to improved quality of continuous maternal and child care.
