In 2024, World Tourism Day will be celebrated in Georgia; it is no coincidence, and it is symbolic, that peace and tourism will be the key topic of World Tourism Day, and it is symbolic that our country has been selected to hold this important celebration, Georgian Prime Minister said today.

“It has been decided that, in 2024, Georgia will host the celebration of World Tourism Day, which is a commendable decision, of course. I would like to thank everyone engaged in this process, the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, Mister Zurab Pololikashvili, the Ministry of Economy, and everyone involved in this process.

We will honorably host delegations from numerous countries. It is no coincidence, and it is symbolic, that peace and tourism will be the key topic of World Tourism Day, and it is symbolic that our country, and our city, has been selected to hold this important celebration. This is what I wanted to say.

What is the most important, as I stated at the beginning, is the construction of a new airport. We have two options, one is to expand the existing airport, and the other is to build a new one, designed and planned properly from the very outset and targeting long-term prospects. We will consider both options to inform you about our decision later”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
