Prime Minister of Georgia met the visiting members of the Board of Directors from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) today.
Dignitaries discussed the successful cooperation between the Government of Georgia and EBRD, along with the significant projects that are implemented in the public and private sectors of the country with support of the Bank. It was noted that EBRD has to this day invested almost 5 billion Euros in 283 projects.
According to Irakli Garibashvili, support of the EBRD in financing the priority areas of the country is priceless. Hopes were expressed that productive cooperation will be continued in future as well.
Discussion touched upon the structural reforms currently carried out in the country and progress achieved in the journey of democratic development and advancement.
Focus was made on the fact that irrespective of the current challenges, effective policy of the Government of Georgia led to a double-digit economic growth in the country during the past 2 years. In addition, attention was paid to the specific indicators, including the positive trends witnessed in the sector of tourism.
Dignitaries also spoke about large infrastructure projects that are implemented in the country for increasing the degree of energy security and energy independence of Georgia.
Meeting was attended by the full composition of the visiting delegation from EBRD led by Katarina Bjorlin Hansen, Regional Director of EBRD for Caucasus, while the attendees from the Georgian side included Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia; Irakli Karseladze, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; Revaz Javelidze, Head of Government Administration.
