Salome Zourabichvili was awarded the Ordre de la Pléiade - Order of Francophonie and Intercultural Dialogue

The President of Georgia was awarded the Ordre de la Pléiade - Order of Francophonie and Intercultural Dialogue.

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF), Francis Drouin, presented the award, created in New York in 1976, to Salome Zourabichvili for distinguished devotion to the principles of Francophonie.

“You have never stopped fostering links between Georgia and France. You are an example of collaboration with the West. Your acts contributed significantly to the establishment of solid institutions and the development of a robust democracy in Georgia. The Assembly appreciates this progress. Your nation is confronting many problems, but you are preserving the country’s unity despite attempts to destabilize it”, - said Francis Drouin.

The Ordre de la Pléiade is an internationally recognized award bestowed upon individuals who have contributed greatly to the French-speaking communities and upheld the ideals of La Francophonie, promoting the role of the French language in their own countries or the world.
