Prime Minister of Georgia meets Prime Minister of Armenia

Prime Minister of Georgia met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. Irakli Garibashvili and Nikol Pashinyan discussed partnership dynamics in the political, economic, and cultural spheres between Georgia and Armenia. They reviewed the existing regional as well as global security environment and challenges.

As noted by the head of state of Georgia, within the Peaceful Neighborhood initiative, Georgia continues to express its readiness to support the peaceful development of the region.

The Prime- ministers underlined strong historical and cultural ties that bind their nations. With a shared commitment to fostering regional stability and prosperity, Armenia and Georgia aim to engage in High Level Dialogue on strategic issues, that will provide an additional impetus to our successful cooperation, while contributing to regional peace and stability.

The focus was set on trade and economic issues. The Prime Ministers expressed their readiness to advance the economic cooperation between the countries to a new level. After the face-to-face meeting, Garibashvili and Pashinyan discussed the dynamics of cooperation between the countries in an extended format.

Among the discussed issues were topics of fruitful cooperation in various fields. The parties emphasized the positive dynamics of cooperation between the states in transport, trade, energy, culture and other directions. Moreover, the sides accentuated the role of the intergovernmental economic commission of the two countries, which is an influential platform for strengthening the ties between Georgia and the Republic of Armenia.

At the extended meeting, the parties reviewed new directions of cooperation in the field of economy. The meeting was attended by members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia and Armenia.
