The President of Georgia attended the public funeral of the fallen heroes relocated from the occupied territory of Abkhazia. Salome Zourabichvili expressed her gratitude to everyone engaged in the process.
This time, 13 identified individuals who went missing without a trace during the military activities in 1990’s have been relocated through the joint efforts of the Office of the State Minister and International Committee of the Red Cross within the scope of a Georgia-Abkhazia Coordination Facility. Out of them 4 are servicemen and 9 civilians.
Public funeral of heroes fallen during the military activities will be held for two days at the Trinity Cathedral.
One serviceman will be buried with military honor at the Brothers Cemetery in Dighomi, while others – at various locations, including an ancestry cemetery at the decision of their families.
