Georgia has the ambition to become a member of the European Union and NATO and we support these aspirations. Such a statement made the Prime Minister of Croatia at a briefing together with the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“Today we talked about the improvement of relations between Croatia and Georgia. We touched on Georgia’s European perspective, the country’s ambitions to join NATO.
We also talked about the current events in Ukraine, Russia’s aggression and Georgia’s economic situation. We touched on the situation in South-Eastern Europe.
Croatia and Georgia are very similar in terms of population geography. Georgia has the ambition to become a member of the European Union and NATO. We support these aspirations.
As you know, last year, in the European Council, we decided that Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia will join this path. Moldova and Ukraine have candidate status, while Georgia was given a European perspective and 12 obligations were defined.
This is written in the conclusion of the European Commission. I am glad that Georgia is fulfilling these obligations. I hope that we will discuss this issue with all three countries, we will see institutional progress in Georgia and move forward on the path to joining the European Union”, - said Andrej Plenkovic.
