The Georgian police act within the law and will protect everyone, whether he/she is a citizen of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia or US. Such a comment made the Mayor of Tbilisi, while evaluating the statement of the US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, regarding the rally held in Batumi port.
“The entry of tourists is not a problem, they may arrive. The most important thing is that everyone should respect the Constitution of Georgia, the legislation of Georgia, follow the law. They came to spend money. Will not this money go to the economy of Georgia? Actually, what we see, this protest is again and again directed against Georgia, Georgian economy.
Some people are not happy that there is peace in the country, economic development is taking place. A tourist arrives, spends money, leaves and returns to his country. It is very simple… The Georgian police will always act within the law”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
