Contest is announced for selection of temporary members for District Election Commissions

For the October 1 elections, a contest has been announced for selection of temporary members of District Election Commissions (DEC). In regard with it, the briefing was held today at the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia. According to the CEC Spokesperson, Natia Ioseliani, receiving submissions from the applicants has been commenced today.

“As is customary, the Election Administration (EA) of Georgia places significant emphasis on conducting every electoral process, including the selection of temporary members of DECs for the by-/extraordinary elections in an open and transparent way. Consistent with the practice set in recent years, the utmost level of transparency of the selection process of candidates will be reached – the interviews with the applicants will be livestreamed. Stakeholders will have an opportunity to thoroughly observe the interviews through the official social networks of the CEC. We urge them to actively engage in the process. We would like to remind you that the EA will apply electronic technologies at a large scale in the very elections, and active participation of stakeholders, their observation at all stages of the electoral process hold a significant importance.

As for the details of the contest – it is announced for selecting temporary members of the №12 Gurjaani, №30 Kaspi and №32 Gori DECs. Each of these commissions has three vacant positions. We extend a sincere invitation to all interested parties to actively engage in this opportunity and ensure the timely submission of the required documentation for the contest.

We hereby remind you that the submission of the documents is possible today and tomorrow no later than 6 p. m. at the CEC as well as through a specific electronic platform (Konkursi.cec.gov.ge).
