US President Joe Biden is planning to submit a request to Congress for additional funding of at least USD25 billion, including assistance for Ukraine, writes Bloomberg.

According to a Bloomberg source, Biden’s additional request will include approximately USD 12 billion for disaster relief and USD13 billion for defence, including assistance for Ukraine. The emergency funds will not be subject to budgetary limits.

It comes at a critical time for Ukraine, when the war with Russia has intensified. The Kremlin has multiplied attacks on shipping lanes and infrastructure in the Black Sea after pulling out of a grain deal, threatening key food supplies for much of the world.
