Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, met today with Mark Clayton, Ambassador of Great Britain to Georgia, as part of scheduled meetings with international organizations and diplomatic corps.
Close cooperation on the enforcement of international sanctions was the main subject of the meeting between Natia Turnava and Mark Clayton. British Ambassador received detailed information from the Acting Governor of the NBG regarding the amendments enacted, which involve perfecting the international sanctions enforcement process and bringing it into compliance with local legislation.
“I think that an interesting meeting was held with Mark Clayton. Great Britain is a strategic partner to Georgia and hence our cooperation is a priority for us. I presented to the Ambassador our arguments related to the amendment in the regulation on the enforcement of restrictive measures.
I expressed my readiness to continue close cooperation on improving the regulations to shed light on all issues. I reconfirmed to Mr. Clayton our commitment to the international obligations and mentioned that we will be certain to continue close cooperation with all stakeholders in the future”, - said Natia Turnava.
Meetings with international financial organizations and representatives of the diplomatic corps are to be continued.
