A concluding meeting of the 1-year training program on cybercrime and digital evidence was held at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia. Prosecutor General opened the event and addressed the participants of the training and the event guests with a greeting speech.

“The 1-year intensive training course, which every participant from different institutions accomplished successfully, was completed fruitfully today. Therefore, we can say that we have 17 cyber analysts, who will significantly contribute to the combat against cybercrime and to the process of obtaining, examining and analyzing electronic evidence in general, which is crucial in today’s world.

I am particularly grateful to the US, the US DOJ, and the Embassy for making it possible to carry out this training and for seconding their top specialist, US DOJ Cybercrime Lab Director Ovie Carroll to Georgia. He has indeed shared the superior knowledge, best practice and skills held by our friend US to the training participants”, - said Irakli Shotadze.

The employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Security Service, Digital Governance Agency and Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau took part in the training together with the prosecutors and investigators of the Prosecution Service of Georgia.

The 1-year training program on cybercrime and electronic evidence was carried out at the Office of the Prosecutor General of Georgia with the support of the US Embassy DOJ and the funding of the Department of State INL and under the framework of GCFA/ICHIP program. The training was led by Ovie Carroll, Director of the Cybercrime Lab of the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the DOJ.
