New buildings of regional police and Emergency Situations Management Service opened in Abastumani

First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Shalva Bedoidze and Deputy Minister - Giorgi Butkhuzi, along with Director of Samtskhe-Javakheti Police Department - Giorgi Bukhrashvili, Head of Emergency Situations Management Service - Temur Mghebrishvili and other officials visited the new buildings of the Police and Emergency Situations Management Service in Abastumani and congratulated employees on continuing their daily activities in modern building with international standards.

Until now, the police building in Abastumani was located in the local government building, and the Emergency Situations Management Service was located in an outdated venue.

Law enforcement officers employed in the police department will serve Abastumani settlement and Adigeni municipality’s 12 villages with up to 4000 citizens.

The three-story building of Emergency Situations Management Service is in full compliance with the needs of the region, designed for 35-40 employees, where all conditions for performing professional activities are provided.

Newly built buildings of modern standards are attributed with the latest equipment. Evidence, weapons and identification rooms are located in the police building as well.

The new buildings have working, study and rest areas, as well as a gym and a kitchen.

The buildings are adapted for people with special needs.

A special parking lot for two fire –fighting vehicles and one rescue vehicle is provided in the building of the emergency situations management service.

The police is also provided with electric cars and the buildings are equipped with electric car chargers.

One of the main priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the renewal of the police infrastructure, within the frames which, in order to improve the working environment of police officers and provide effective police services to citizens, a number of new buildings of the police and Emergency Situations Management Service have been opened across the country in recent years.
