The infrastructure of Kutaisi International University [KIU] will be expanded to make it possible to receive up to 30,000 students by 2028, the implementation of this plan will be totally financed by Bidzina Ivanishvili. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made today in his speech at the graduation ceremony of the first graduates at KIU.
“As for the future plans, I would like to say a few words about it. I had a conversation with Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili and there are very ambitious plans related to the further expansion of the university. We plan to present the future 4-year development plan of our country to the public in the near future. One of the main components of this plan will be the implementation of education reform, a special emphasis will be placed on the implementation of university reform, and Kutaisi International University will occupy a special place here.
Our task is to have 2 special educational hubs in the country - Tbilisi State University and Kutaisi International University, which will have an equal load in terms of providing education in the country.
This means that the infrastructure of the KIU will be expanded, so that it will be possible to receive up to 30,000 students by the KIU in 4 years, by 2028. This requires the expansion of relevant training programs, the invitation of additional qualified personnel to KIU, this plan will definitely be implemented in the next 4 years. The implementation of this plan will be totally financed by Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
