The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia [MFA] has been informed about the capture of two Georgian citizens fighting in Ukraine by the Russian armed forces.

“The MFA, based on open sources, has been informed of the capture of two Georgian citizens fighting in Ukraine (G.G. and G.Sh.) by the armed forces of the Russian Federation during military operations.

The Georgian side will use all international mechanisms at its disposal, including the International Red Cross and the Swiss Confederation, as a mediator between Georgia and Russia, to protect the rights of Georgian citizens guaranteed by the Constitution”, - reads the statement of the agency.
