Geocell is for sale - Telia Sonera leaves Eurasian markets

Telia Sonera is leaving the Eurasian market and Georgia. The information has been confirmed by the representative of the Telia Sonera.

Who will purchase Geocell is unknown at this time. Accorsing to Courier, Turkcell has already expressed interest in purchasing the company.

"Georcell is not leaving the country. This is Telia Sonera`s strategic decision to withdraw from Eurasia. The company"s strategic decision is to develop its activity in the Baltic region," - said Eric Halberg, president of TeliaSonera for Eurasia.
