An investigation has been launched into the fact of splashing of paint onto the icon of St. Matrona, on which Stalin is depicted, in the Trinity Cathedral.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, proceedings were initiated under Article 166 of the Administrative Offences Code, which pertains to petty hooliganism.

Information regarding the placement of the icon of the Holy Matrona in Sameba [the Holy Trinity Cathedral], on which Joseph Stalin is depicted, was spread on social networks on January 6.
