Next few months critical for Ukraine – Kirby

The U.S. administration believes the developments on Ukraine’s battlefields over the next few months will be critical to its overall defense effort, so Congress should pace up decision-making on continuing support. Such a statement made the National Security Council stratcom coordinator, John Kirby.

“The next couple of months are going to be critical for Ukraine. Russians continue to attack Ukraine, launching barrages of drones and missiles. Therefore, the Ukrainian command is already forced to make difficult decisions on which weapons to expend and what ammunition to fire, which is a horrible place to put the Ukrainian military in.

At the same time, Russia continues to receive military aid from Iran and North Korea. In addition, the Russians have set up domestic production of drones and other weapons systems.

The U.S. administration wants Ukraine to win this war. The President Biden clearly stated that Ukraine should become a prosperous and sovereign nation within internationally recognized borders.

And we want to be able to continue to give Ukraine the support that it needs so it can achieve those outcomes”, - said John Kirby.
