Prosecutor’s Office charges 1 for stalking colleague in Terjola Municipality

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia charged 1 person for stalking a colleague in one of the villages of Terjola Municipality.

“The investigation had revealed that a public school teacher had systematically established non-professional and unwanted communication with their colleague, including by persistently requesting sexual intercourse despite the victim’s refusal, between 2021 - 2023.

The actions had forced the victim to radically change her usual way of life and take a long-term, unpaid leave from work”, - reads the statement of the agency.

It noted the Office would ask the court to use imprisonment as a preventive measure against the alleged offender and remove them from their position.

The body would also apply to a resource centre of the Ministry of Education “to study the incident and take appropriate legal measures”.
