Members of the government respond to the ongoing processes in Rustavi 2.The Foreign Minister rules out any kind of pressure on the media from the government.

The Minister also noted that the issue of freedom of media was important for the government and the government would closely monitor the process.

"For us the issue of media freedom is of great importance and we willclosely monitor this process. The judiciary is independent in its decisions. Lately, we have seen numerous cases proving judicial independence. It is important to have independent media, "- he said.

The European integration minister deems freedom of speech as the main achievements as well and evaluates the campaign against Rustavi 2 as the private legal dispute.

"When we talk about the dispute between the two entities, the government"s role is important in creating an environment where freedom of media, independence of the judiciary, property rights, the basic right of allcitizens are protected," - Davit Bakradze stated.
