he Committee discussed the Draft Maritime Code for the II reading. As the Deputy Economic Minister, Guram Guramishvili elucidated, the Draft establishes the “one-desk” service system in the ports, and simplifies and digitalizes the entry and departure procedures for the ships to ensure accelerated, reliable and safe processes.

The digitalized system will allow the ports to increase the number of entering ships and the capacity of cargo turnover, which will facilitate the economic development of the country and the sustainability of the maritime sector.

The Committee approved the Draft.
