Broadcasting company Rustavi 2 and the recent developments in the media will be the topic of discussion at Parliament"s plenary session today.

At the Committee hearing yesterday, the majority did not supporton the opposition"s call on the governmentto stop the pressure on the media. The committee sitting went on with confrontation and noise.

The majority strongly denies the government`s pressure on TV stations.They do not share opposition"s concerns regarding the threat of Rustavi 2"s closure.

"The dispute between the former and current owners will be decided by the court, and not by the Parliament and the executive branch. Rustavi 2 employees can keep quiet. Rustavi 2 is not going to be closed, "- said Nukri Kantaria.

The parliamentary opposition is of a different opinion.

"The facts are that the court does not act fairly and is in a hurry, causing the public and the international community"s concerns," - said Davit Darchiashvili.
