As of today, support of Georgian Dream is about 60%, we will do everything to ensure that elections are held in free and fair conditions - Kobakhidze

As of today, the support of Georgian Dream [GD] is about 60%, we will do everything to ensure that elections are held in free and fair conditions. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia/Head of the election headquarters of Georgian Dream at the press conference held at the party’s office.

“We have already started the election campaign and are actively preparing for the October 26 parliamentary elections. Today we have very strong electoral positions.

Currently, the support of GD is about 60%, although this circumstance does not allow us to relax. We will do everything to get the highest possible result. We need maximum legitimacy to ensure further development of our country and finally defeat liberal fascism in Georgia.

This is what needs maximum legitimacy, which we will definitely get in these parliamentary elections. You know that in 2012, GD left the practice of rigging elections in the past, which was one of the main signatures of the previous government.

GD will do everything to ensure that the 2024 parliamentary elections are held in free and fair conditions.

Also, it is very important that the elections are held in a peaceful and calm environment. Until today, the election process has been taking place in an essentially peaceful situation, if we do not count several liberal-fascist attacks on the representatives of GD.

Such an attack was carried out on Beka Odisharia by the activist of the United National Movement [UNM], Papashvili. Also, the Minister of Health was attacked by a representative of one of the NGO affiliated with the UNM. Dachi Beraia was attacked by Anania, one of the active followers of liberal fascism, who, as I heard, made a name for herself by depicting Georgian saints on condoms. These acts of liberal fascism were actively supported by the televisions and media outlets belonging to the collective UNM.

Unfortunately, given many years of experience, we expect that the provocations will continue in the future. In the conditions when the collective UNM cannot collect even 30%, they are doubly motivated to organize such provocations, using the technologies of liberal fascism.

They will try to create an aggressive election environment, but we will do everything to ensure that the elections take place in a peaceful situation”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
