Speeding fines are being reduced. Parliament is reviewing the new legislative amendments under an expedited procedure. The project will be registered at the Bureau in a few hours and will go to the Legal Affairs Committee for its first reading today.

Under the new rules, exceeding the speed limit by 15 to 30 km/h will be fined 50 GEL instead of 100 GEL. For exceeding the limit by 40 to 50 km/h, the fine will be 100 GEL instead of 300 GEL.

The strict sanction for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h remains unchanged. The reform will be approved by the end of the week.
