With the support of National Wine Agency of Georgia and organized by the Agency’s U.S. marketing contractor, Colangelo & Partners, Georgian wine was showcased at the annual Food & Wine Classic Aspen 2026 festival in Aspen, Colorado, USA.
Thousands of festival attendees had the opportunity to taste 12 different Georgian wines at the Georgian wine stand.
As part of the three-day festival, a professional Georgian wine presentation and tasting - “8,000 Years in 8 Glasses” was held for commercial sector representatives and consumers. The tasting was led by American sommelier and wine journalist Eric Segelbaum. Georgian wine was also featured in two masterclasses conducted by one of the wine industry’s most influential journalists and experts, Wanda Mann.
The National Wine Agency was one of the sponsors of the festival.
“Participation in the Aspen festival is important for increasing demand for Georgian wine. The U.S. wine market is characterized by both high quality standards and intense competition. In recent years, numerous marketing activities implemented with the support of the National Wine Agency have significantly contributed to raising awareness of Georgian wine in the American market, which represents one of the highest-value export segments for Georgian wine where the average export price of Georgian wine is approximately USD 6 per liter,” said Tamta Kvelaidze, Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency.
The National Wine Agency carries out its Georgian wine marketing campaign in the United States in cooperation with Colangelo & Partners, one of the country’s leading marketing agencies. As part of the campaign, wine seminars and tastings are organized in various U.S. cities for wine professionals and trade representatives; Georgian wine is presented at international exhibitions; and wine tours to Georgia are arranged for members of the media, sommeliers, and sales professionals. These activities contribute to increasing awareness and promoting Georgian wine in the U.S. market.
