"We do not want to see restrictions on the media," - this statement was made by the US Ambassador Ian Kelly on Rustavi 2 issue .

Ian Kelly said that Georgia needs peace and endorsed the statements made by the President and the Parliament Speaker.

"I have made a number of comments regarding Rustavi 2. The United States supports the principle of media pluralism.We do not want to see restrictions on the media. We want to see you country successful. Georgia is recognized as a model of democratic pluralism and freedom of media.I can not comment because I am not a politician. I"ve heard really good statements from the President and the Chairman of Parliament"s who call for dialogue and piece. I think our friends in Georgia need dialogue , "- the US diplomat said.
