" Georgian government  attaches great importance to freedom of speech and media pluralism. I welcome  unhindered  work of Rustavi2. We are ready to work with our international partners and non-governmental organizations, to ensure that the dispute between the owners of the broadcasting company will  be transparent and monitored effectively.   At the same time, we should not allow   political interference or  pressure on the free court.

We welcome the international community"s interest in the freedom of media in Georgia, however, the biased criticism from some western societies ,which may be caused due to one-sided information or  sympathy for the party, cause  skeptical attitude of Georgian society towards Western values.

We call on all interested parties once again inside and outside the country, to monitor the court proceedings,  as the Court is independent from political. "- is said in the statement.
