The US Department of State has responded for the third time to the events around ry Rustavi 2 at the daily briefings. The State Department spokesman highlighted the threat of possible closure of the channel and noted that it would be a precondition for restricting the media. which according to Mark Toner is the reason for concern.
The US Ambassador, Ian Kelly also speaks about the freedom of media in Georgia,and says that the everybody should have access to free air space.
American diplomats and high-ranking officials have hailed the president"s speech, however, criticized the Prime Minister"s statement, particularly in the non-goverment circles. American experts believe that the incitement of violence from the head of the government is unacceptable.
