"Media freedom is a fundamental principle," - James Appathurai

James Allathurai continues his visit to Georgia. Currently he is in Gori where a NATOCenter should be open.

Before departure from Tbilisi a Special representative of NATO Secretary General James Appathurai discussed the importance of media freedom.

"As for the freedom of the media, NATO is working closely with partner countries and assesses their progress in various fields. These are military reforms and democratic and political reforms - there are much more important for the country, which are striving for NATO membership. Media freedom alongside with independence of judiciary is a fundamental principle as well as bilateral political environment ,"-said James Appathurai.
