In January-November 2024 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 21 112.7 million, 6.6% higher year-on-year. The exports equaled 6 010.9 million (7.9% higher), while the imports stood at USD 15 101.7 million (6.1% higher). The negative trade balance was USD 9 090.8 million in January-November 2024 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 43.1 percent, reads the report of GeoStat.
In January-November 2024 the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 81.7%. The top partners were Kyrgyzstan (USD 1 166.1 million), Kazakhstan (USD 795.4 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 664.4 million).
In January-November 2024 the share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 70.0%. The top partners were Türkiye (USD 2 500.9 million), USA (USD 1 828.5 million) and Russia (USD 1 635.5 million).
In January-November 2024 the share of the top ten trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 69.2%. The top trading partners were Türkiye (USD 2 939.3 million), Russia (USD 2 269.4 million) and USA (USD 1 965.8 million).
In January-November 2024 motor cars claimed the first place in the list of top export items, equaling USD 2 218.9 million with 36.9% of total exports. The exports of ferro-alloys totaled USD 316.5 million and their share in the total exports amounted to 5.3%. The exports of spirituous beverages occupied the third place standing at USD 270.4 million and constituting 4.5% of the total exports.
The top import commodities in January-November 2024 were motor cars, whose imports equaled USD 3 082.4 million (20.4% of the total imports). The petroleum and petroleum oils followed in the list with USD 1 185.3 million (7.8% of imports). The Medicaments put up in measured doses were third in the top import commodity list with USD 562.7 million (3.7% of imports).
