Zaal Udumashvili, a Deputy Director-General of Rustavi2 thanked supporters of the broadcasting company and freedom of speech.

According to him, the main demand is possibility for journalists, to implement their professional  responsibilities. Udumashvili has noted that Rustavi2 is united today.

" In recent months the main weapon of government for fighting with Rustavi2 was a court, which has  lost its face, as our process demonstrated 

But in recent days we faced a new weapon- blackmail. Nika Gvaramia, a Director General of Rustavi was threatened with the security of his family members, then publishing audio and video recordings and the government partially fulfilled threats yesterday. 

I think that even the biggest skeptics  no longer doubt that Nika Gvaramia was blackmailed. It had two main reasons : First of all to damage Nika Gvaramia and Second- to split Rustavi2.

I would like to tell   authors and inspirers of these recordings and tell that they should be dissapointed. These recordings can not damage Nika Gvaramia and Rustavi2 is much more united and strong. I can even thank you for that.

You see now only the part of those journalists, who work here every day, because most o0f them are now implementing their professional duties. This is our only demand, we want to implement our professional duties, nothing more.

We are not going to step back, because now we speak not about the comfort of Rustavi2, we speak about freedom of expression and speech.

Gentlemen, I would like to address you, instead of surveillance and blackmail , would be  better to focus on the direction where you are leading this country,"- said Zaal Udumashvili.
