
Alexander Tabatadze, the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee hosted a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Chair of the Defence, Security and Counter-Corruption Committee, Arzu Naghiyev.
The discourse covered the processes in the region, security challenges and cooperation prospects.
Alexander Tabatadze informed his counterpart about the key directions and priorities of the Committee and overviewed the coordination progress between the legislative and executive authorities in security matters.
Arzu Naghiyev introduced the specific model of defense, security and countering corruption in Azerbaijan and touched upon the assignments of the Committee within the Milli Majlis.
“Azerbaijan is a strategic partner to Georgia. We engage in dynamic cooperation in various domains and maintain active and productive relations. During the meeting, we reviewed the security situation in the region and emphasized the significance of parliamentary cooperation. I expressed my gratitude to Mr. Arzu Naghiyev for Azerbaijan’s unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for visiting Georgia”, - said Tabatadze.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Tengiz Sharmanashvili.
