The merger of Tbilisi State University and Georgian Technical University will not lead to a reduction in the number of academic staff or enrolled students. Such a statement made today the Minister of Education.
“It is important to clarify that, as part of these ongoing reforms, there are no plans to downsize the academic workforce.
We intend to retain as many staff members as possible and will make every effort to ensure their expertise and knowledge are utilised both in teaching and in research and scientific activities.
Additionally, we have decided to maintain current student intake quotas and will not be reducing enrolment numbers. Our objective is to carry out fundamental reforms openly and collaboratively, with the community’s engagement”, - explained Givi Mikanadze.
