Prime Minister pays tribute to the memory of victims of the Shovi tragedy

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia together with Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze visited the memorial dedicated to the victims of the tragedy that occurred in Shovi on August 3, 2023, marking the third anniversary of the disaster.

The Head of Government of Georgia paid tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives in the tragedy and once again extended his condolences to the families of the victims.

Together with representatives of the Government, Parliament and local authorities, he attended a memorial service held by clergy members at the site of the memorial commemorating the victims of the tragedy.

“Three years have passed since the tragedy that shocked our entire country. For each and every one of us, this was an immense tragedy. We must do everything possible to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future. In this regard, specifically concerning glacial processes, work has been carried out together with a Swiss company and preliminary research results have been obtained. The state will do everything necessary to ensure that similar risks are prevented in the future. This was an enormous tragedy for our country, first and foremost for the families of those who lost their lives and I once again express my deepest condolences to them”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
