The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, along with State Representative in the Shida Kartli region, Simon Guledani, visited the fruit processing enterprise “PM Group” LTD, located in the village of Mejvriskhevi, Gori Municipality.

The Minister reviewed the fruit processing operations, the company’s infrastructure, and its future development plans.

“Strengthening our country’s economy and reducing dependence on imports requires the advancement of a modern, standards-based agricultural sector capable not only of meeting the demands of the domestic market but also of offering competitive products on international markets. Our goal is for Georgian products to establish a respected position in both domestic and international markets”, - said David Songulashvili.

“PM Group” LTD has been a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency since 2024. As part of the Co-financing Project for Processing and Storage Enterprises, the company received GEL 221,364 in co-financing for the establishment of a fruit processing facility.

The company has also benefited from the Preferential Agrocredit Program, receiving financial support in 2024–2025 for establishing and further developing the enterprise.

The fruit processing facility of “PM Group” LTD has an annual processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes of fruit.

The enterprise produces dried fruit, fruit chips, tkhlapi, churchkhela, and other products. Its output is sold both on the domestic market and exported internationally. The enterprise provides permanent employment for 12 people, while during the seasonal period, the number of employees increases to approximately 40. The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Lasha Avaliani, Head of the National Food Agency, Giorgi Iakobashvili, and representatives of the local government.
