Journalist Vakho Sanaia was detained near his residential house. Law enforcement officers arrived at Sanaia’s home after the court made the decision to sentence him to administrative detention.
The Tbilisi City Court sentenced Sanaia to 14 days of imprisonment for insulting the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, and MP Vladimer Bozhadze.
Sanaia did not attend today’s hearing.
The Department for Combating Hate Speech appealed to the court for a legal response. On the very same day, the court fined Badri Shubladze 2,000 GEL for insulting Archpriest Andria Jaghmaidze.
