The Tbilisi City Court fully accepted the evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office and found two defendants guilty of illegal purchase, storage, and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotics, as well as of setting up a clandestine laboratory for the purpose of illegal production of narcotics.

The evidence examined at the trial confirmed that the defendants, in order to illegally sell narcotics, in a group, with a prior agreement, and in order to produce narcotics in particularly large quantities, set up a secret laboratory in the residence of one of the defendants, which was equipped with the inventory necessary for the production of narcotics. In the said secret laboratory, the defendants, up to and including October 23, 2025, as a group, regularly produced particularly large quantities of narcotics: alpha-PVP, “mephedrone” and “clephedrone”.

The defendants were charged under Article 260, Part 1, Part 2, Subparagraphs “b”, Part 3, Subparagraphs “a” (illegal purchase and storage of narcotic drugs in a group in an especially large amount); Article 260, Part 4, Part 5, Subparagraphs “b”, Part 6, Subparagraphs “a” (facilitation of illegal sale of narcotic drugs in a group in an especially large amount); Article 266, Part 2, Subparagraph “a” (arrangement of a clandestine laboratory for the illegal production of narcotic drugs in a group in an especially large amount) and Article 260 Prima, Part 1, Part 2, Subparagraphs “b”, Part 3, Subparagraphs “a” (illegal production of narcotic drugs in a group in an especially large amount).

The Tbilisi City Court found both defendants guilty of the charges and sentenced them to 17 years in prison each.
