US State Department criticized decision of Dutch population
The United Stets is disappointed by the outcome of the results of the referendum on EU-Ukraine association deal that was held in the Netherlands, US State Department deputy spokesperson Mark Toner said on Thursday.
On Wednesday, 61.1 percent of Dutch voters rejected the EU-Ukraine association deal’s ratification in the advisory referendum, according to preliminary results. A turnout of 32.2 percent passed the 30-percent threshold to give the public vote legal weight.

“Clearly, we are disappointed by the results, but we do respect the views by the Dutch people, and we respect the Dutch political process,” Toner said in a press briefing.
