Metropolitan of Batumi, Dimitri Shiolashvili responded to the arrest of Father Giorgi Mamladze`s detention. He expressed sorrow over the events and appealed to everyone to refrain from presumptions before the end of the investigation .

"I express my immence sorrow about what happened. If the guilt is proved i can be considered the tragedy of teh century. We are waiting for results of the investigation, which we trust. We hope that all participants, regardless of their status of these brutal intentions plot will be most severely punished.
