The UNM has left the Constitutional Commission in protest.As the party explains, the reasons are the amendments introduced by the ruling party in the main law of the country, which as they say make the Constitution undemocratic.

"We left the Commission not allow this government to adopt such an undemocratic constitution that will prevent future development of the country. The direct election of the president will be annulled, and many functions of President are also canceled or reduced. The electoral process is going to be undemocratic and it is tailored to the interests of the ruling government, "said Roman Gotsiridze.

The European Georgia does not intend to leave the Constitutional Commission so far. According to them, the decision will be made after all resource expire.

"The political party remains at this stage in order not to allow the deterioration of the number of possible compromises," said Zurab Tchiaberashvili.

Free Democrats are not going to leave the constitutional commission at this stage, but they do not rule it out.

According to party leaders, the continuation of the work is worth only if the ruling political force shares the opinions of the subjects included in the work of the commission.
