Russia will continue to strengthen the armed forces and will focus on high-level technologies- said the Russian president at the Military-Industrial Commission. Vladimir Putin said that Russia"s armed forces must be ready to defend the country from the dangers that threaten Moscow from abroad. Despite the economic crisis, the military modernization program costs did not decrease.

"We will continue to strengthen our Armed Forces and the military organisation as a whole and to do everything possible to ensure that our Armed Forces are up-to-date, mobile and well equipped, capable of performing their main duty – that of neutralising risks and potential political threats to this country’s security, "- said Putin.
