Representatives of the opposition parties evaluate the third request of the prosecutor`s office to the Ukrainian side for the extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili as political persecution.
Politicians note that there are no changes in cases launched against the third president , and accordingly they believe that the demand is inadequate.
Member of the United National Movement, Khatia Dekanoidze sees the motives of political persecution in the request for Mikheil Saakashvili extradition.
"Of course, this is a political persecution. In the last period, the hunt was announced directly of his supporters and his family members, "said Khatia Dekanoidze.
Otar Kakhidze, the Chairman of the European Georgia faction , notes that Interpol refused to declare Saakashvili as wanted due to political motives.
"After this rejection nothing has changed in criminal cases against Saakashvili. Consequently, I do not suppose any cardinal changes should be expected in this direction. However, the Georgian authorities once again harm the international reputation of our country, "- said Otar Kakhidze.
Member of the faction Georgian Dream Tamar Chugoshvili considers that the request of the Prosecutor`s Office belongs to the "legal sphere" and refrains from evaluation.
According to international standards, the third requirement for the extradition of a particular person the country can make in the event of a new criminal case against him.
