The disinformation campaign against the opposition Tbilisi Mayoral candidates is a noticeable trend in the upcoming elections with social networks. The websites was included in the pre-election report of ISFED.
The pages for the pre-election campaigns have been activated on Facebook and promote financed posts against candidates of opposition parties, which is a pre-election agitation and illegal donation.
Who is behind this campaign is unknown, but the information has been sent to the Audit Office for further reaction.
According to the report, the budget has been amended in 37 municipalities and the funds were mainly distributed on social and infrastructural projects. The authors of the report suspect that the goal of increasing such projects is to increase the support of the voters in favor of the ruling party in the pre-election period.
