The general auditor`s candidate will be voted for in the current session of the parliament. The MPs will take the decision at the bureau session. The ruling team says that Irakli Mekvabishvili`s candidacy was chosen for professionalism.

Whether opposition factions will support Irakli Mekvabishvili`s candidacy is yet unknown. "European Georgia" plans to meet with the candidate for the head of the Audit Office.

Only the National Movement`s position is known. The party does not intend to participate in voting.
