Georgia-EU relations, ongoing reforms in the country and situation on the occupied territories of Georgia were the main topics at the meeting of Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Federica Mogherini.
Prime Minister met with EU High Representative in the frames of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
The focus was on the reforms that will facilitate more rapid integration into the EU.
The sides discussed the situation in the occupied territories.
"Georgia"s relations with the EU are at the highest level. We have very close cooperation in all directions. Including security issues, including the multilateral format, common positions in terms of general policy development. We talked about the Eastern Partnership Summit. Of course we will continue to work to make this summit successful for our country, successful for the Eastern Partnership and for the EU, "- the Georgian Foreign Minister, Mikheil Janelidze said.
Federica Mogherini reaffirmed the EU`s strong support for Georgia`s territorial integrity and sovereignty. According to the European Union High Representative, Georgia was one of the most important issues at her meeting with the US Vice President.
