Turkish ambassador to Georgia responded to the information that the persons accused of terrorism were hiding in the Patriarchate of Georgia. Zeki Levent Gümrükçü says that official Ankara is still waiting for extradition of one of the defendants from Georgia.

One of the two accused of membership in the armed terrorist group is already in Turkey.

They were detained by Georgian law enforcers on the basis of the demand of the neighboring country.

"These individuals are accused of being members of a terrorist organization and their extradition process to Turkey was based on the decision of the Turkish court. We have provided all necessary documents to the Georgian side. The law enforcers detained both persons in the spring of 2016. One of them has already been transferred to the Turkish side. In connection with the extradition of the second person, the process is going on and I think we will hear the court`s decision in the nearest future, "- said Zeki Levent Gümrükçü
