The Russian aggression and mass violations of the rights on the occupied territories were the main themes of the President`s address to the General Assembly. Petro Poroshenko said that the resistance to the Kremlin costs the population life and imprisonment.
"Russia does not contribute to international security, Russia is a huge threat. It is probably the only country in the world with a variety of conflicts with all its neighbors, "-Petro Poroshenko said.
The Georgian side says that they are regularly consulting the UN member states in order to provide more support forthe resolution on IDPs, the voting on which continues to be held every year at the General Assembly.
This resolution has been discussed in the United Nations since 2008 and will be held at the 71st assembly on June 1. The resolution not only recognizes the dignified return of IDPs and their property rights, it also obliges the Secretary-General to prepare report on the condition of IDPs every year.
